It’s an Epic Pi Day!
This Saturday, March 14, 2015 is a special day for mathematicians all over the world. Every year, pi (π) day is celebrated on March 14. However, this year is special year – some are calling it EPIC! As Pi is an irrational number, it is a decimal that continues forever without a repeating pattern. Check it out below…
π = 3.141592653…
If you celebrate Pi on 3/14/15 at 9:26:53 am, you will have followed the first 9 digits of pi! This will not come around for another century! For your own knowledge, pi is the value of the ratio of the circumference of a circle and the diameter of a circle. ANY CIRCLE! It is one of those numbers that occurs naturally in the world that we live in.
