Kindergartners paint snowmen!

Aside

Kindergartners, inspired by their creative teachers, paint snowmen. They read such books as Snowmen at Night and Snowballs. These books sparked their imaginations. In addition to the basic snowman parts, students add hats, scarves, ear muffs, and ice skates with snowflakes to make sure the snowmen don’t melt. 🙂 This lesson is part of their science, art, and language art curriculum. In science, students learn about weather, water cycle, mass and volume.

Westlawn’s PTA Rocks!

Westlawn’s PTA is awesome! It support our students, families and teachers in so many ways. Our wonderful PTA sponsors such events as cultural arts assemblies, holiday events like Ginger Bread House making, restaurant and Bingo nights, walk to school day, Fall Fesitival, Book Exchange, and the biggest event at Westlawn, International Night!  At tonight’s meeting our PTA served healthy snacks which supports Westlawn’s quest for this year’s GOLDEN Wellness Award!
